What is usability in software design?

Let us bla bla bla about application..

hum... Can I ask you one question?  How you define a good application? Is it based on its appearance or its ease to use? Hum… you might choose both of them, am I right? Hee… but research has proved that the ease to use an application is more popular in public in order to satisfy their needs. To me, I do agree with that because I prefer to use an application when it serves an easy tool to navigate me here and there.

This kind of behavior we call it as “usability in software design” where you can get your precious right as the user to perform prescribes tasks. This easiness of using an application basically produced by the software designer incorporates with user concerns and advocacy from the beginning of the design process to fulfill the need of the user as the most important aspect in any design decisions. click here for further information!

Don’t you think that it is wonderful when you can access anything by only clicking one button? Indeed! In this modern world, people are more aware of what they are doing. They intend to have a simple life rather than a complicated one. This also becomes a trend in every technology industry. They will do their best to bring a world in the hands of user.

So, thank you to every software designer all over the world who has created a very friendly user-centered design for us because now we don't have to use the old-fashioned of technology. Thank you!

Talking about application system will never finish until the end of time, it simply because the technology is keep changing every day, every hour moreover every minutes. So, for this very good day, I would like to talk about an application system which has the best user centered design for mobile devices from my own personal view. It is Blackberry!

Aawww… who does not know Blackberry? No one right!… yea… Booming up in 2003 as the first modern smart phone, Blackberry has remarkably managed to completely change the way that people communicate. Not only functioned as a telephone for sending and receiving of email and text messages or web browsing but also contains lots of features which clearly helpful for the owner without having to find a computer. One of the features that appear with its comfy tools is QWERTY keyboard that many people prefer to use it.

A long the way, since the introduction of the Blackberry a lot of competitors have appeared on the market and this has really hurt sales since they are now competitors with some of the biggest companies in the telecommunication industry. But yet, Blackberry continues its improvement! The current models are not only a communication device but also a personal assistant and a multimedia player. In addition, a number of applications have been developed by other mutual parties that add even more features to the phone especially blackberry protection which is really essential to safe your data.

It’s Battle time!

Yey!! Hello people… on this very good day we are going to see the power of Computer Science (CS) people and Information Technology (IT) people. Before that let us first understand what the difference between these two major is.

Computer science focuses on the technology itself and less on its business application. MIS/IT professionals apply technology to business needs.

MIS and computer science courses may look similar but there are major differences in their content and how they are taught.

As we see from the explanation above, we can conclude that CS people play an important role to create, design and develop a system which can be used and managed by IT people. Due to this, many people assume that CS people are more superior than IT people. *what? Do you believe that????

So, who is the winner for this battle? CS people or IT people? hum… to me there is no such thing like “Most CS people laugh at MIS/IT people” and they also should not say that. Same goes to a statement says “MIS/IT people make more money and manage the CS folks”. Bear in mind! Neither one is better than the other – they’re just different.

So, what is the best solution for this? To me, the best solution is to Respect, Support and Work together to create a better system and use it to make a peaceful life in future.

Computing Disciplines

Morning glory world! Having a cup of tea while blogging is a very pleasure time! sssluurrpp..

Okay, today, I would like to post information about Computing Disciplines. I studied this subject last week and now I would like to share my understanding towards this subject. Check this out!

First of all, let me lists down the 5 of Computing Disciplines:

–     Computer Science

–     Software Engineering

–     Information Systems

–     Cognitive Science

–     Computer Engineering

Ok, now, are you ready to go deep into each of the Disciplines?

I would like to start with the mother of all computing disciplines, it is Computer Science.  Why I say so? Because Computer Science spans a wide range, from its theoretical and algorithmic foundations to function developments in robotics, computer vision, intelligent systems, bioinformatics, and other exciting areas.

Ulala.. That must be really interesting right? So, who do think the one which use the concept of computer science? Any ideas? It is Software Engineering  Yupp… as my lectures said Software engineering is the discipline of developing and maintaining software systems that behave reliably and efficiently, are used to develop and maintain, and satisfy all the requirements that customers have defined for them. it uses quantifiable approach or go through ITERATION PROCESS to evaluate the system, let me illustrate with the this image!

 After that, there is this Information System that continues to use the software system to implement or improve it using information technology at all levels. It helps an organization determine how information and technology-enabled business processes can provide a competitive advantage. check this out!

There are Cognitive Science and Computer Engineering.

Basically, cognitive science is focusing more on scientific study of mind and how we process it. here is the concept of it. 

"that thinking can best be understood in terms of representational structures in the mind and computational procedures that operate on those structures.“

Well, the last point of computer disciplines is computer engineering which is concerned with the design and construction of computers and computer-based systems. It involves the study of hardware, software, communications, and the interaction among them.
