Yeaa.. This post
will give you an idea about the relation between agriculture aspects
that we use to see in the village with the modern technology that we own in today’s world. How it can be used together? And what are the
related technologies?
So, now… you
have to fasten your seat belt and keep reading!
Technology is one of the biggest influences in our life. Am I right? Nowadays, around the world
everyone starts to use technology to solve their daily problems and it is also
happened to the farmers. FARMERS?? Does technology help them? yaa.. Technology
does!
There many agricultural problems that has
been solved by using technology. Let us start with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). This technology can be applied to the agricultural sectors in two
ways:
-Production management (from tracking
growth and reproduction records to integrating transportation information.
-Inventory management (from boosting
operational efficiency to minimizing loos and damages).
So, how it can be really meet with the
solution? Ok, this RFID works really simple but totally efficient. Let us take
an example of dairy farms. As we used to know that, traditionally dairy farmers
are using simple livestock tags and stick it to the cow‘s ear which need to be
absorbed every day. In the other hand, RFID –enhanced microchip which will give
instant identification and moreover, it can give a complete information of each
individual such as body type, growth development and greatly facilitate
vaccination managerial efficiency. So, at the end of the day, the farmers are
no longer need to worry on how to identify their cattle herds, swine litters or
sheep flocks.
Another useful technology that can be used
for agricultural is Geographic Information System (GIS) which
is used in mapping the world. Yuupp… Those of you who are already familiar with
GPS will also know how this tool works. It used for surveying landscapes and
quickly capture large amount of spatial data for the analysis. This tool is
really helpful for all the agricultural industry in measuring the size of the
land.
Last but not least, we have Cloud Computing. It provides remote services to distance user by using Internet. By implementing this, farmers can input and
keep track of expenses, sales, inventory levels, total salary paid to hired
hands, quarterly production quantity and other accounting figures. In advance,
not only farmers who get benefit from cloud computing, but the costumers also can
benefit it by making the wealth of information public through cloud computing. It
keeps the nation’s farmers informed of the latest changes in the environment,
market prices and economic trends, which will help balance domestic supply and
demand.
With all these handy services and practical
information at hand, the nation’s agricultural sector is one step closer to
becoming healthier, less complicated and more superior than ever before!
so, thank you technology for helping our farmers!
